Literally only around 170 years of history. Sexuality was a concept invented in the mid-1800s to try roughly place human sexuality on a map, similar to the political compass. People before the mid-1800s never considered themselves "straight" or "gay". There is no sexuality, only sinful and non-sinful sexual behaviors.
