While I really want to do this, 100x50 is clearly not enough because you need access to much more space for your pigs to root for food.

Yeah, that's the only problem I saw. With that little space, you'd be better off with a nanny goat for a good fatty food supply.

Just spend a few more dollars and buy 10 acres.

Also, as farmers, you do need to specialize in one or two things. Trade with your neighbors if you need the things you don't specialize in. This is the way.
