We had a last minute storm brew that's projected to be bad, so I took these window shutters I originally made for our house and put them over the bed. I need to get proper covers, but I haven't had a chance to pick one up.

How did you put them over the bed? Are you using them as the top for a cold frame?

My plants are just sprouts, so they sit on top of the frame without crushing them. They'll probably be ok, but I didnt want to take any chances.

Very cool and useful for when its cold and windy. I was thinking of building raised beds and using plexiglass as a coldframe

Plexiglass is pretty expensive. I like to use a PVC frame and put a plastic sheet over it to build a mini hoophouse.
