14

It was written on cocktail napkins by a single mother I liked it until some movie faggot spoiled the books for me I like books before they become films ie LoTR etc. Ruins the imagination as my father said how we imagine the story is often superior to the films.

Purebloods have only Wizard ancestry, whereas Mudbloods descend from non-wizarding folk (Muggles) or a mix of the two.

29
Silence_Is_Violence 29 points ago +30 / -1

Adding onto this, the protagonist "hates" it because he is woke and has mudblood friends, but it's commonplace in the rest of society.

So you're also trolling them as a wizard supremacist.

13
Fabius 13 points ago +14 / -1

Yes, us Americans (most of us) are not culturally familiar with the concept of noble blood and how seriously they take it.

That's why (I know this is royalshit) it was a big deal when what's his name married Kate Middleton. There was no other issue except for the fact that she was a commoner with no noble bloodline.

4

Crockett 10 points ago +11 / -1

They're the equivalent of Nazis

Not exactly. The more precise analogy would be to say "Pureblood" is the equivalent to "Aryan."

Death Eaters/Nazis are the militant supporters of a regime which puts a high value on Purebloods/Aryans. In contrast to tolerant good-guys who may or may not be Pureblood/Aryan but don't put any stock in that categorization.

Ron Weasley (good guy) is a pureblood. Hermoine Granger (good guy) is a "Mudblood" (born to non-wizards). Harry Potter (good guy) is a "Half Blood" (mother was a Mudblood, father was a pureblood). Draco Malfoy (Wannabe bad guy but kinda redeemed by the end) is a pureblood. Voldemort (Hitler) is a halfblood (ooh, the irony, so poignant, right?).

1

Crockett 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well, yeah. For unvaxxed to go around saying "Hooray, we're Purebloods, that's great and makes us better," that end of the analogy holds.

15
80960KA 15 points ago +16 / -1

In Potterverse, wizarding seems to be some kind of genetic trait, so there are lineages of wizz dudes that pride themselves on being only wizard x wizard crosses, with no "muggles" in their tree. The wizards have varying levels of smugness about this, with the villains of course being the most insufferable about it, because wanting your kids to be pretty much guaranteed to have the objectively superior trait of wizarding is obviously bad.

Thing is Harry Potter wizard culture is fucking dumb. Voldy was willing to violate every taboo except combining technology with magic and just murdering everyone with steerable bullets and bombs that come out of a magic portal.

5
deleted 5 points ago +6 / -1
9
80960KA 9 points ago +10 / -1

The whole society seems a bit backwards, doing things old fashioned even when it doesn't really make sense just because they're ultraconservative when it comes to anything non-wizarding. It's kinda like if the Amish were wizards.

I like Fate/Zero's take on more or less the same idea of a parallel wizard society better.

3
Crockett 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yeah there's definitely a weird retardation in the wizarding world. Like, they have retarded unstable architecture in many cases, because they can get away with it because magic. Necessity is the mother of invention, you know? So why invent a washing machine when you can just enchant a wooden brush to scrub your pots? Or take advantage of an intrinsically subservient slave species of magical laborers?

1
BidenLikesMiners 1 point ago +1 / -0

a brush takes hours

2
Thehoboinyourtrash 2 points ago +3 / -1

The flying car is superior in every way to the broom. It also shows that yes, enchanted magic tech is possible in the story. So magic floating Ak-47s that kill your enemies with magic bullets is the logical conclusion to that little fact.

The writer is retarded.

1
BidenLikesMiners 1 point ago +1 / -0

or there have to be rules or the universe becomes bunkked.

like in TLJ: rian cockhead removed all the rules of starwars, and destroyed it (there is no GRAVITY in space)

1
80960KA 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think really it's more you have to have rules for various reasons, and in the case of Potter it's to basically give pretext for JK Rowling to worldbuild a pocket universe of cute magical Victorian England. That's totally fine but if you actually start thinking about the world there's a lot that just doesn't really add up. It's a world full of cheat codes and even the most evil guy in the world plays fair.

14
Vigo 14 points ago +15 / -1

Yes, their superior existence is harmful for the mudbloods' fragile mind.

Funnily enough, mudbloods are actually implied to be useless. AFAIK some of them cannot do magic (real science) and do useless things, like tea leaf reading (social sciences) instead. The less pure their bloodline is, the more likely they'll fail at magic. Makes Grug think.

Of course woke libshit girl is a mudblood, so ignore the stats, goy.

11
TeaPahrTay 11 points ago +11 / -0

Does make grug think.

The European nobility, and the nobility of many cultures, take the purity of their bloodlines very seriously, despite the risks of inbreeding.

There has to be a reason deeper than just being a clique or something. It goes to "right to rule" concepts and I have heard theories that are not terribly retarded that it might have something to do with the the Nephilim and the people who had sex and children with angelic beings.

Also protip for commoners: the rich and powerful take marriage much more seriously than just who you fall in love with. Genetics, connections, the fitness of your spouse, the alliances with families and families of families all play into it. This is why you can be rich and famous surrounded by scads of attractive, powerful people but they are extremely picky about who they marry.

I intend to lowkey get my kids to think about who they marry as more than who they are attracted to (you'll be attracted to hundreds of people, so don't you worry about that) or even if they are a good Christian. I won't go all Pureblood with them but tell them to think about the person's family, is it an advantage or disadvantage to have them become your family.

I wish I had thought about that more.

3
TarquinusCollatinus 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's a really interesting topic. The kind of marriages that led to such terrible inbreeding like Charles II of Spain were a consequence of absolutism and consolidation of feudal realms into organized states.

In the Middle Ages, the feudal structure meant it was frequently advantageous to marry into strong or useful vassal families (rather than other royal families) which pretty much eliminated the risk of inbreeding.

Another big factor was the Catholic Church had very strict consanguity rules, outlawing any marriage between relatives as close as sixth cousins until the later part of the Middle Ages, and even then restricted it to third cousins.

Protestants had no such qualms and freely recognized first-cousin marriages, which no doubt contributed to the problem.

1
TeaPahrTay 1 point ago +1 / -0

How do you outlaw sixth cousin marriages in Middle Ages villages? That's six degrees of separation. You might not be able to find a wife in the whole serfdom.

2
TarquinusCollatinus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good question! Marriage was a lot more relaxed in the Middle Ages, especially among peasants.

There was no requirement for a celebrant, witnesses or even a formal ceremony to be held in order to be considered married. Although there was a tradition of marriage by clergy dating back to the earliest days of Christianity, it was not common and the sacramental form of marriage as understood today really wasn't developed until later in the Middle Ages.

In addition, peasants had little, if any real property and were unlikely to be able to trace their lineage to begin with, so inheritances weren't a particular concern.

This kind of investigation, however, *was *done by the nobility because an invalid marriage would also invalidate that inheritance and the legitimacy of any children born under that union. Even today, being an illegitimate son is an impediment to being ordained a priest that requires dispensation by the bishop.

A sacramental marriage also conveyed a lot more legitimacy than a "regular" marriage (and was also much better documented).

Needless to say there was an incentive for potential rivals to the title to try to find common ancestry to invalidate a marriage/claim. It became an increasing problem which led to that standard being relaxed to the third degree in the 13th century.

1
80960KA 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think it's a lot more network effects, if your clan has a lot of ties to another powerful clan, there are a lot of advantages to further marrying into that clan versus chancing it with another.

1
TeaPahrTay 1 point ago +1 / -0

They're concerned with bloodlines first, networks second though. There's a genetic component that they are VERY serious about.

1
80960KA 1 point ago +1 / -0

It may be as simple as genetics are the most base network. For the most part you can know exactly how someone is connected to another person by walking the heredity graph, no hearsay, no paperwork, very concrete "who did you descend from". Family tree plots may be the most ancient graph visualization there is, that's how important mapping that network is.

4
Smol_Gobbo 4 points ago +5 / -1

You’re thinking of squibs, actually. Those are people who have wizard parents but can’t do magic, they’re treated basically like disabled people and allowed to do that menial stuff.

A person with muggle parents who can’t do magic is called a muggle, and isn’t allowed in wizard society at all.

Why am I not surprised the only piece of culture this cunt recognizes is fuckin Harry Pooter?

Honestly, I went to the first blade movie for some reason. ( I keep thinking the vampires born vampires call themselves pure bloods, though I can't find the quote. )

5
they-see-me-trollin 5 points ago +5 / -0

it's not blade. it's a 4chan meme directly from harry potter. they picked it because the goal is to mock the people getting the vax as "mudbloods" for intentionally and sheepishly making themselves the lesser, and even sillier, there's a symbol from the book a bunch of these people got as tattoos. 4chan is making that symbol a new face of white supremacy like pepe and the ok sign. western cuck media will whine about it being racist, and all these leftist soyboy cucks will be forced to get their white supremacy tattoo removed.

2
yeldarb1983 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ah, I'm with you.

Sorry, it's just fucking pathetic that the only piece of western culture these people seem to embrace is a mediocre book series and associated cashgrab movies, when there's so much good stuff to enjoy.

Btw, I'm on a kick on this, but if you've never read it, look up an ebook of "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" by Mark Twain. Fantastic book, criminally under appreciated, and just a little bit based.

2
ShinichiHaku 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dude, it's bad enough at this point that if an author has a Western name it's a mark against them as it is assumed their work is woke trash. Obviously older works don't follow this rule, you can find Western names producing actual content if you go back a few decades. As far as general offense goes Harry Potter is a minor one - click something by a Western author now and it's random diversity checkboxes in the first few chapters, why because fuck you that's why.

About the author:

Chelsea was born and raised in New Orleans, which explains her affinity for cheesy grits and Britney Spears. She currently lives in sunny Los Angeles, with her husband and two poorly behaved rescue dogs. She is a former roller derby girl and a black belt in Judo, so she is not to be trifled with. She loves the word “Jewess” and wishes more people used it to describe her.

2
ShinichiHaku 2 points ago +2 / -0

It espouses the libtard ideology, namely indoctrination = education = intelligence. It also adopts their style of combat (most of the spells are worse than punching your opponent in the face, the main spell is a disarm which is worse than just slapping their wand away). The few spells that actually do something (Power Word: Pain, Dominate Person, Phantasmal Killer) are banned.

So it's used as a religion.

2
TruthDefenseForce 2 points ago +2 / -0

A leftist came onto The Donald to troll about this. I completely shut his brain down when I told him Voldemort was actually the good guy in Harry Potter and that Harry Potter represented the indoctrinated leftists who were destroying the Wizarding world. They couldn't fathom that I wasn't joking so I double-downed on just how not joking I was and then they left.
