This Weeks Discussion Theme: Consume Diet

White boy summer is just around the corner! It’s very easy to put on some pounds while taking a vacation or just going out more. Even though many of us will pig out during the summer it’s important to not forget health is wealth and it starts with your diet. This weekly is on dieting for good health, or weight loss and weight management.

Discussion ideas:

  • Why is eating balanced and healthy so hard for many people?
  • What is important in a healthy diet? E.g., portion control, calorie counting, protein to carb ratio etc...
  • Share healthy dieting advice.

Reflux is caused by low hydrochloric acid. It is possible to get rid of acid reflux if it is chronic.

People are told it is caused by too much stomach acid (HCl, hydrochloric) but it is in fact caused by too little stomach acid

Too little stomach acid means that your epiglottis does not give its signal to close properly. Thus reflux.

Taking antacids contributes to this problem

Sufferers need to restore the HCl levels in the stomach. Low HCl levels are dangerous to our health bcs it means all kinds of bad organisms that HCl would normally kill are getting into the gut. Of course it also means people are not properly digesting their food. Nutritionally poor.

To deal with this, people can get some Betaine HCl - a non-prescription over the counter product in the form of rather oversized pills - and take them prior to meals containing protein. It is necessary to experiment to see how many to take. They are not dangerous.

Over some time, perhaps a few weeks or less, it becomes possible to cut down and then eliminate their use.

Thereafter, things should be mostly fine as the body recycles its HCl.

People with low HCl may also not be producing enzymes such as protease or papeine, which are involved in protein digestion. People with that problem can just buy a fresh papaya and eat a few of the seeds. Very effective. Much more concentrated papeine than is in a bottle, and much cheaper.

Coffee is alkaline and will neutralize HCl, so maybe people with this problem can give that up.

People can also consider eating home made sauerkraut to improve general gut health.
